For more than 400 years,
Otgol Village has been the home of the descendants
of the Gwangjeonggong sect of the Gyeongju Choi clan,
And the village was founded in 1616 (8th year reign of Gwanghaegun of Joseon) when Choi Dong-jip, a scholar of the mid-Joseon Dynasty, settled here.
There are about 20 Joseon Dynasty houses in Otgol Village, and Baekbul Old House is the oldest of the Joseon Dynasty houses in the Daegu area and is located in the innermost part of the village.
